COMMITTAL / FOR AS SUCH AS YOUR SERVANT, MRS. VICTORIA OLAMIDE WILLIAMS DEPARTED

COMMITTAL

We know that if the earthly house of our tabernacle be dissolved, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

For as such as your servant, our sister and mother, Mrs. Victoria Olamide Williams departed out of this earth and God Almighty in His great mercy has called her to Himself, we therefore commit her body to the ground, earth to earth, ashes to ashes, dust to dust in sure and certain hope of the resurrection of eternal life through our Lord Jesus Christ to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.

I heard the voice from heaven saying to me, from henceforth blessed are the dead who died in the Lord, even so says the Spirit for they rest from their labours. You are the King of Glory, O Christ; you are the everlasting Son of the Father. When you had overcome the sharpness of death; You opened the Kingdom of heaven to all believers. You sit at the right hand of God in the glory of the Father. We believe that you will come to be our judge. We therefore pray you, help your servants, whom you have redeemed with Your precious blood. Make them to be numbered with your saints in glory everlasting. Amen.

20.       PRAYERS AND BENEDICTION

O merciful God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is the resurrection and the life; in whom whosoever believeth shall live, though he die, and whosoever liveth and believeth in Him, shall not die eternally; we meekly beseech! Thee, O Father, to raise us from the death of sin, unto the life of righteousness; that when we shall depart this life, we may be found acceptable in Thy sight, and receive that blessing which Thy well-beloved Son shall pronounce to all that love and fear Thee, saying, come ye blessed children of My Father, receive the Kingdom prepared for you from the beginning of the world. Grant this, we beseech Thee, O merciful Father through Jesus Christ, our Mediator and Redeemer. Amen.

O God, the strength of the weak, the comfort of the sorrowful, the friend of the lonely; Let not sorrow overwhelm Thy children, nor anguish of heart turn them from Thee. Grant that in the patience of hope and the followership of Christ, they may continue in Thy service and in all godly living until at length they also attain unto fullness of life before Thy face, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

All glory and thanksgiving is Thine, Almighty God our heavenly Father, for that Thou of Thy tender mercy didst give thine only Son Jesus Christ to take our nature upon Him, and to suffer death upon the Cross for our redemption. We bless Thee for that victory over death and grave which he hath obtained for us and for all who rest in Him, and we pray Thee to keep us in fellowship with all who wait for Thee on earth and with the company of heaven: through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Benediction

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all evermore. Amen.

LAY DOWN, THY HEAD UPON THY SAVIOUR'S BREAST / GB' ORI LE AIYA OLUGBALA RE

INTERMENT

SENTENCES AT THE GRAVE SIDE

As a father pities his children, so the Lord pities those who fear him. For he knows our frame: he remembers that we are dust.

The Lord is good to all, and his compassion is over all that he has made. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our afflictions.

18. HYMN – SSS 1041 (Verse 1-2)

1.    Sleep on, beloved, sleep, and take thy rest;

Lay down thy head upon thy Saviour’s breast

We love thee well; but Jesus loves thee best

Good-night! Good-night! Good-night!

2.    Calm is thy slumber as an infant’s sleep;

But thou shalt wake no more to toil and weep

Thine is a perfect rest secure, and deep

Good-night! Good-night! Good-night!

AND SAFE IS SUCH CONFIDING / IRU ABO YI DAJU

.      RECESSIONAL HYMN EMHB 528

1.         In heavenly love abiding,

            No change my heart shall fear;

And safe is such confiding!

For nothing changes here:

The storm may roar without me,

My heart may low be laid;

But God is round about me,

And can I be dismayed?

2.         Wherever He may guide me,

No want shall turn me back;

            My Shepherd is beside me,

            And nothing can I lack:

            His wisdom ever waketh,

            His sight is never dim;

            He knows the way He taketh,

            And I will walk with Him.

3.         Green pastures are before me,

            Which yet I have not seen;

            Bright skies will soon be o’er me,

            Where  the  dark  clouds  have been:

            My hope I cannot measure,

            My path to life is free;

            My Saviour has my treasure,

            And He will walk with me.

ALMIGHTY AND EVERLASTING GOD, WE OFFER YOU MOST HEARTY THANKS

         PRAYER FOR THE FAMILY, FRIENDS AND THE CHURCH

Almighty and everlasting God, we offer You most hearty thanks for the grace and virtue made manifest in all Your saints, who have been chosen vessels of Your favour and lights of the world in their several generations.  And we most humbly beseech You to give us grace so to follow their good examples; that with them we may be partakers of their heavenly kingdom through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Father of spirits, we have joy at this time in all who have faithfully lived, and in all who have peacefully died.  We thank You for all their memories and all lively hopes for the sacred ties that bind us to the unseen world, for the dear and holy dead who compass us as a cloud of witness, and make the distant heaven a home to our hearts. May we be followers of those who now inherit these promises, through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.

THE LORD’S PRAYER

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name; Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as in heaven.  Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.  Do not bring us to the time of trial but deliver us from evil.  For the kingdom, the power and the glory are Yours now and forever.  Amen

15.       THE LAST POST

16.       BENEDICTION

May the God of peace, who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus Christ, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in you that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever.  Amen
